history of hung gar
Hung Gar was one of the five original systems from the Southern Fukien Shaolin Temple. This system started with only three forms, Taming the Tiger Set, Tiger Crane Set, and Iron Wire Set. Taming the Tiger set teaches strength building and the twelve bridge hands. The Tiger Crane Set teaches the strength of the tiger with strong muscles and ligaments, while the crane teaches strikes that are quick, smooth and deadly accurate. The Iron Wire set is the advance Internal training of the system. Since the system left the Temple more sets or forms were added to the system, mainly through the Hung Society. The principle of Hung Gar came from, Five Elements ( Ng Hong, The Twelve Bridge Hands ( Sup Yee Gee Kiu ), and the Five Animals ( Ng Ying ).
