Tai Chi Ruler
The Tai Chi Ruler was created by Chen Po in the early Sung Dynasty. The Ruler was taught to Zhao, Kuang - Yin, as Chen and Zhao were very close friends. The Tai Chi Ruler was kept within the Zhao Family until 1954. At this time, a Zhao Family member nickname Long Legged Zhao started teaching the Ruler to the public for health. Zhao got his nickname because he liked to walk everywhere, instead of riding in cars or other transportation. He lived to be 116, with good health until his last six months of his life. The Tai Chi Ruler was supposed to be originally a straight sword handle. The traditional ruler should have a hole running from the center of ruler end to end. This is done so that Chi can travel from one hand to another. There are also fighting techniques using the Tai Chi Ruler. The ruler does not have anything to do with Tai Chi Chuan, but many Tai Chi instructors have learned the Tai Chi Ruler today.
